Thought of the Day, July 10, 2020

Posted by Traci Smith on

Thought of the Day: Last Sunday we heard the parable of the lost sheep. It reminded me of something I read in Rob Bell’s book Love Wins. Take a look:
“Once again, God has a purpose. A desire. A goal. And God never stops pursuing it. Jesus tells a series of parables in Luke 15 about a woman who loses a coin, a shepherd who loses a sheep, and a father who loses a son. The stories aren’t ultimately about things and people being lost; the stories are about things and people being found. The God that Jesus teaches us about doesn’t give up until everything that was lost is found. This God simply doesn’t give up. Ever.”

MOVIE NIGHT: Next Wednesday, July 15, the Christian Education and Youth team is sponsoring a drive in movie night! You’ll be able to listen to the movie from inside your car! Hooray!! The movie night begins at 8:00 p.m. Important note: We’d like to know how many are coming, so please let us know if you’ll be there. You can respond to this text, or let Pastor Traci or Emily know. For now, this is an EPC event. If it goes well, we might open it up. Lots of thanks to Emily for figuring out the logistics of this!

If you want to pop in virtually, call in HERE! https://zoom.us/j/515981426

Don’t forget to Join us Online for Online Coffee Time at 11:30 on Sunday Mornings as well. HERE’s the link.

For Discussion: Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. Instead of discussing a whole book, we’ll take a look at the article “America’s Enduring Caste System” from the NYT. You can find it HERE.  Join us. (Also, if you’ve not had a chance to take a look at the article, you’re still free to join the discussion.)

See you soon,
Pastor Traci
