Thought for the Day, May 4, 2020
THOUGHT OF THE DAY: Perspective. My children were digging a hole in the backyard the other day. They got about 8-10 inches down and one of them said “I bet we’ll find gold down here!” When they got to an interesting looking rock, they marveled at it for a good minute and a half. That night in the tub (to wash off all the dirt, of course!) my other son said “Wow, it’s like I’m diving!” Just now my youngest heard a noise outside. “Is it a bear?” she asked. The world can be full of wonder, if we let it, even as we shelter in place.
CARD SHOWER: We grieve with Marion Young who has lost her youngest son, Greg, to COVID-19. Let’s see how many cards we can send? Marion’s address is: 321 Elm Avenue Elmhurst, IL 60126. Don’t know what to say? It’s ok. Sometimes simple is best. “Thinking of you during your time of loss, and praying for you and your family” will mean a lot.
THESE DAYS: We got them fairly late, but the These Days
devotionals are ready for you to pick up at the circle drive at church.
CHALK THE WALK: When the weather is nice, help us leave messages of hope for our community on our circle driveway.
May 6th - This Wednesday, Psalm 145. Please come with Psalm 145 either printed out, or pulled up on a phone or device if you can. We’ll read through the Psalm together, I’ll do a little lesson on it, and we’ll end our time with prayer.
May 13th - Tori, the therapy dog tricks from 7:15-7:35 - This week will be perfect for all ages. We’ll start our time with checkins and end with prayer. In the middle, we’ll get to see Tori’s fantastic tricks!
