Pastor's Corner

In Matthew 17:20, Jesus says "For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you."  On Easter morning, this was part of the message I preached. Resurrection faith, I argue, is not necessarily big and showy, it can be small and uncertain.  Resurrection faith, even a whisper of faith, is enough to move mountains, according to the scriptures. Sometimes we get caught up in the how and the why of faith. We wonder exactly how Christ was resurrected and why. This is where one of my favorite theological words mystery comes in. Great is the mystery of faith we say. Christ has died. Christ has risen. Christ will come again. Let us cling to these words, even if we don't understand them. Easter is not simply a day, it's a season. Resurrection hope is more than just one day. As you consider this season,  look around for signs of resurrection all around you. You will see them, in the birds, in the flowers, in the new life and new growth. Enjoy the season! Pastor Traci
