October 15, 2021: E-News Updates

Posted on

Hi EPC Friends and Members!

Here's my "3-2-1" for this week...

3 EPC Happenings

  • For the first time ever these E-Notes are being sent out by an EPC Admin -- welcome to The Rev. Kaleigh Corbett who is serving as a remote office assistant for EPC. Kaleigh is supporting general EPC administration including communications, bulletin design, and support to our lay leadership. She's not on-site, but she is available via phone, text and (the easiest way to get ahold of her) via email -- Welcome Kaleigh, and thank you so much for all of your help so far!
  • Live-Streaming! You guys... our live-streaming is going so well in my opinion. We're just getting started with all of the things we can do, and it's amazing. As I've said before, we owe a huge debt of gratitude to Keith Baumann and Susan Smentek for putting in overtime hours in getting it to a place where it can be run by volunteers. If you're not able to be with us in person, you can see us LIVE HERE or click on the button below!
  • Trunk or Treat - We're looking for some people to create Halloween Trunks for our Trunk or Treat Event happening on Sunday, October 24th. Please join us! See the flyer below.

  • I was reminded of THIS wonderful conversation from the On Being podcast this week. It's one of my favorites.
  • THIS is one of my favorite live performances of all time. I absolutely love that the singer, David Archuleta, (winner of American Idol) is so humble and nervous and then just sings with such passion and soul.

There you have it! Our 3-2-1 for the week. See you on Sunday.
It's not the same without you there,

October Mission Project

Our new Youth-led mission, Community Kids is collecting items throughout the month of October to create bags for people who live outside. The bags will be assembled on October 24, our annual Trunk or Treat day.

We are collecting the following items:

Warm fuzzy socks                       Hand Sanitizer
     Hand/foot warmers                  Small Water Bottle
                    Chapstick                        Juice with clear bottom
Soft Granola Bars                          Candy Bars
$5 McDonalds Gift Card               Shelf-Stable Snack

Items can be left on the metal shelves outside of the door to the circle drive. Look for our logo!

Community Kids will be hosting other groups in the future looking to make a difference. Are you part of an organization that is looking to help? Does your group need community service project ideas? Need a space for it? Email our Director of Children & Youth Ministries, Emily, as Elmhurst Presbyterian is glad to help out other organizations and offering another way for our kids to learn to be a light in the world!
