Hi EPC Friends and Members,

Here's my "3-2-1" for this week...

3 EPC Happenings
 1. Leadership Breakfast: THIS SUNDAY! All of the church teams and committees will be meeting from 9:30-10:25. If you're not on a ministry team (committee) but are curious about how you might serve the church in this way, please plan to come to the meeting at 9:30 to learn and discern where you might use your gifts!

2. Garden Opportunities: Spring Planting in the vegetable garden will be here soon! If you're interested in being notified of the planting date, please let Cristi in the office know -- planting date will depend on the availability/arrival of the seeds and the weather, but we're looking at the end of May.  We're also looking for folks who would like to "adopt" part of our grounds for the summer. You would take on a small portion of the grounds and be responsible for weeding and watering. Garden and outdoor lovers welcome, as are neighbors and friends.

3. Ordination and Installation, Dia Nuevo congregation -- I'm so proud of and happy with my partner in life and ministry, Elias Cabarcas. His road to ordination has been a long one, but he's kept his eye on the goal. Celebrate with the Presbytery of Chicago and the PCUSA as he's ordained to the Dia Nuevo community on June 4 at 4:00. The service will be a joy filled, bilingual celebration.

2 Interesting Links
 1. Did you know that Elmhurst University was recently awarded a GRANT to continue serving Latinx/Hispanic Students? It's exciting to see the things the university is able to do because of it. I'm grateful for continued opportunities to partner with such an amazing Elmhurst institution and wondering what the Spirit will continue to do in our midst.

2. I'm so excited that Jennifer Knapp and Daneen Akers will be joining us for worship on the Sunday after the Pride Festival, June 25, during worship.

1 Thought
"Know how to leave things alone, for if knowing how to refuse is one of life's great lessons, an even greater one is knowing how to say no to yourself, to important people, and in business. There are non-essential activities, moths of precious time, and it's worse to take an interest in irrelevant things than to do nothing at all."

-- Baltasar Grecian (I found this quote via James Clear)

There you have it! Our 3-2-1 for the week. See you Sunday!
