Hi EPC Friends and Members,

Here's my "3-2-1" for this week...

 3 EPC Happenings
 1. TODAY 5/20 at EPC -- the Tzu Chi Foundation will be hosting a free vegetarian meal to all who could use it. Immigrant families from around the area will be coming to share in the feast. Come and help serve! It'll be a great opportunity to learn about a different culture (or two!) to volunteer, just come at 5:30 PM. All are welcome!

2. It's a busy and exciting Sunday at EPC this week! We'll be welcoming new members, voting on recommendations from the nominating committee, and planting the vegetables for the children's vegetable garden. New growth and new life all around!

3. Pentecost is one week from Sunday! Wear RED

2 Interesting Links
1. It was compelling to see how many of the world’s best ideas came from DREAMS. Do we make enough time to wonder and dream?

2. Bees are fascinating creatures whose life  teaches us so much. I  am fascinated by their habits and ways. They seem to live on a different frequency. I learned recently that the AIR THEY FLY IN is believed to have healing properties. I also read the children’s picture book HONEYBEE recently which is a delightful book. One more bee related link. THIS video about a frozen bee is a metaphor for why we need each other.

There you have it! Our 3-2-1 for the week. See you Sunday!

It's not the same without you there,

There will be a Congregational Meeting on Sunday, May 21 after worship to vote on the Nominating Committee Slate. Please plan on attending!

Tomorrow, May 21st, after worship we will plant our Children's Vegetable Garden! Jan Happel will be here with the plants and to help guide us. The church has gardening tools, but feel free to bring your own if you'd like!

This Sunday during worship we will be welcoming new members into our congregation. Please plan to be there to show your support and welcome them into the life of EPC!

Join us this Sunday as we continue our new sermon series: The R's of Resurrection. Easter is more than a day, it’s a whole season! This year we are honoring that through our new sermon series, The R’s of Resurrection. Join us this Sunday as we explore the next R, Revelation

Join us on May 20th at 6PM as we partner with the Tzu Chi foundation to serve a meal for anyone in need. Our friends at Tzu Chi are generously providing a vegetarian meal, lovingly prepared for anyone who needs it. We've reached out to local immigrant families and others. If you know someone who could use this hot meal prepared in love, please invite them. We could also use a few volunteers to serve alongside the Tzu Chi friends. If you can help, please let Cristi in the office know.

Next Sunday, May 28th, is Pentecost Sunday! We will celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit with the final sermon in our R's of Resurrection Sermon Series: Revival. Make sure you wear RED!

Join us for Elias Cabarcas-Arroyo's Ordination and Installation, which will be held here at EPC on Sunday, June 4th. Be sure you come for this wonderful celebration of his ministry!

Pride Weekend is just around the corner! Save the date for June 24-25 and be sure to plan on attending these wonderful events.

The Garden Team is looking for volunteers to maintain the church garden through the spring and summer. It is a wonderful ministry of our church, and we want to make sure it is thriving! There are plenty of opportunities available and more information can be found on the bulletin board. We need help with caring for various garden beds and borders as well as the children’s vegetable garden. Many hands make light work, so please consider helping us out!

Planning for Elmhurst Pride Fest is underway and we are looking for volunteers. Are you interesting in supporting this wonderful community event? Sign up HERE

A group of students from York High School is collecting new and gently used school supplies to go towards an organization called Roots and Wings. They are collecting scissors, markers, crayons, glue sticks, colored pencils, and paint. The drop-off area will be the shelving unit outside the church's front doors located in the circle drive. Check out the flyer HERE
