Hi EPC Friends and Members,

Here's my "3-2-1" for this week...

3 EPC Happenings

1. DuPage Pads Celebration:Our worship service THIS SUNDAY will be all about PADS! As you may know, COVID changed the landscape of homelessness in DuPage County, and the rotating shelter run by EPC (along with the other churches) stopped serving guests in 2020. As DuPage PADS explored other options, they settled on a hotel model and our church was no longer needed to support guests in the same way. We are so glad for the new solution for guests experiencing homelessness, but also wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all of you as partner churches, and to give thanks for all of your work and ministry over the years. We will hear from DuPage PADS, give a monetary donation to them, and celebrate the work and ministry of many years of dedicated service. Cake reception afterwards!

2. Pentecost -- You will NOT want to miss Pentecost at EPC on Sunday, June 5. It's just around the corner! We'll celebrate with prayer doves, a special reflection and communion. It's the day to celebrate the coming of the holy spirit. WEAR RED!

3. PRIDE!!! - This is another event you won't want to miss at EPC! Join us on June 25 from 12-3 PM at EPC. Pride gives us a chance to shine our light in the community and show that we welcome, love, and embrace everyone! We need YOUR help to make this event a success. Please check out the sign up sheet on the sign up board to see how you can help!

2 Interesting Links
1. How Naming Confers Dignity Upon Life and Gives Meaning to Existence  -- this gave me chills
2. Accent Expert Breaks Down Language Pet Peeves -- I thought this was an interesting reflection on how language changes over time -- relevant to so many things. .

1 Thought

The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.
Psalm 145:8

There you have it! Our 3-2-1 for the week. See you Sunday!
It's not the same without you there,

THIS SUNDAY during worship we will celebrate more than 20 years of ministry to DuPagePads. We have been blessed to be a part of the important work and witness of this ministry. We'll be joined in worship by other partner congregations, and we'll have a chance to hear from the CEO of PADS about what's next for Interim Housing in our community. There will be a reception to follow, and all are welcome to come to this joyous celebration!

DuPagePads is More Than a Pad on the Floor

The Worship Team is looking for folks to serve as Liturgists or Ushers on Sunday Mornings. Ushers are responsible for welcoming worshippers, handing out bulletins, lighting and extinguishing candles, and setting out offering plates and returning them to work room. Liturgists participate in worship by leading the congregation in the call to worship, the passing of the peace, and the prayer of dedication.
