Hi EPC Friends and Members, 

Here's my "3-2-1" for this week...

3 EPC Happenings

1. Pentecost -- Come and listen to a special message from Ruling Elder Faith Lee. Enjoy the special Pentecost art installation created by Connie Nestler, and a special moment for mission about the Pop Up Pantry. Please bring donations of money or food for the pantry. We're collecting diapers, sanitary napkins, beans, rice, and other household goods. 

2. Pop Up Pantry! On Saturday, June 11th, we're doing another Pop Up Pantry for our neighbors in Bensenville! We are in need of volunteers, financial donations and donations of food! If you can spare a couple of hours on Saturday to help, please speak to Anna Lu, chair of Mission, or Pastor Traci! 
9:30 - Load up cars at church 
10:30 - Drive to Bensenville Site to Set up 
11:00 - Serve 
12:15- Clean up and head home 

3. Summer Wednesdays at EPC! We'll get together for food, fun and faith a few times this Summer. These events are for all ages! Do you want to be part of the planning? Please talk to Pastor Traci or come to a planning meeting on Sunday, June 5, after worship! The meeting will be in the Tallman room.

The EPC Mission Committee is looking for volunteers for the Pop-Up Pantry on Saturday, June 11 beginning at 9:30AM. We will load up the cars at 9:30, and arrive by 10:30 to set up. We start serving at 11. We are done by 12:15! Also, Tori (Berner), a trained therapy dog will be with us this time! Can you help? Contact Anna Lu, chairperson of the Mission Committee.


 

Join us THIS Sunday, June 5 as we celebrate Pentecost Sunday! We will celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit with prayer doves, a special reflections, and communion. You are all invited to wear RED! 


 

SAVE THE DATE! Elmhurst Family PRIDE Fest is just around the corner -- Saturday, June 25 from 12-3. 

If you're interested in hands-on volunteering and helping at PRIDE, please check out the sign up sheet that is on the sign up board. We need your help with setting up, hosting our table, as well as clean-up and take down of the event. 

Come join us for this fun filled event!


 

Summer Wednesdays at EPC! Join us on Wednesdays June 29, July 20, and August 10 from 5:30-7:30 PM for a fun-filled gathering of faith, food, and fellowship. There will be dinner, a time of worship, and other surprises. Do you want to help plan these events? There's a planning meeting after worship on June 5th or contact Pastor Traci! 


 

The garden team is looking for more help, especially with watering new plantings! The garden team typically meets ​​on Tuesday and Friday mornings, but that is subject to change depending on the weather.  We also need help tending the vegetable garden through the summer. Duties include watering, weeding, harvesting, packaging, weighing, and delivering. Interested? Contact Ruth Schroeter.

Get ready! Bible Study returns this Wednesday from 12-1:00PM on Zoom! Join Pastor Traci Wednesday as we ask questions like, "What does the text say?," "What does the text mean?," and "How does it call us to live?." All are welcome to join in using the church Zoom link: bit.ly/EPCZoom


 

    

Be sure you check out the Earth Care display in the Nelson-White Room to learn more about what we can do to help our earth and all of creation! It's a great way to get some resources to something practical in conjunction with our sermon series on creation! 


FUNDRAISER FOR OUR BRAVE NURSES -- Please join Jeffrey Deutsch as he sings his hit show, "A Night at the Oscars!" to raise money for the nurses in our area. Saturday night, June 11at 7:30 pm in the EPC sanctuary. Refreshments afterward provided by some of EPC's Top Chefs (You!). 


 

The Worship Team is looking for folks to serve as Liturgists or Ushers on Sunday Mornings. Ushers are responsible for welcoming worshippers, handing out bulletins, lighting and extinguishing candles, and setting out offering plates and returning them to work room. Liturgists participate in worship by leading the congregation in the call to worship, the passing of the peace, and the prayer of dedication. There is a sign up sheet in the lobby or contact the church office


There is a lot going on in the life of the church in the next few months. Please make sure you mark your calendars for all of our upcoming events: 

June 5 -- Pentecost Sunday
June 5 -- Summer Wednesdays Planning Meeting After Worship
June 11 -- Pop-Up Pantry
June 25 -- PRIDE! 
June 29 -- EPC Summer Wednesday 


There will be Sunday School downstairs this Sunday! All kids are welcome to join us for a time of learning and fellowship. Tuning in online? A Zoom Link will be sent out Sunday Morning.
