January 12, 2024: E-News Updates

Posted on

Hi EPC Friends and Members,

This week I’ll be preaching on Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up the other; but woe to one who is alone and falls and does not have another to help. Again, if two lie together, they keep warm; but how can one keep warm alone? And though one might prevail against another, two will withstand one. A threefold cord is not quickly broken.” We belong to each other. I promised you I’d tell you more about my new ministry after the position was announced. HERE it is.

3 EPC Happenings
1. Sunday, February 4 is our annual meeting and final worship service with me. I hope to see you all there. My sermon is called “My Prayer for You.” Come and say farewell. It won’t be the same without you there.

2. This year Ash Wednesday begins on February 14, Valentine’s Day. We will have a service at 7:00 pm with the imposition of ashes, prayer, and song to begin the holy season of Lent.

3. Would love to have coffee, conversation, cupcakes or all three with you this month. See below or be in touch. There is so much to say.

 2 Interesting Links
 1. I loved Matthew McConaughey’s picture book “Just Because." HERE it is being read aloud. My favorite is “Just because it’s fiction doesn’t mean that it’s not true." HERE it is in song form performed by Matthew McConaughey and Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show.

2. I was looking around at church banners today, just because. Look at all of THESE. So pretty.
