Hi EPC Friends and Members,

Here's my "3-2-1" for this week...

Three EPC Happenings

  1. This Saturday we are handing out take and bake rolls, croissants, and juice boxes to our neighbors in Bensenville. If you’d like to join the party, it’s from 2:45- 4:00 on Saturday! Text or email Pastor Traci for the Address
  2. It’s our Christmas Pageant this Sunday. All are welcome. No rehearsal, no fuss! You’ll pick up a costume and go!
  3. We are having a super special second day of Christmas service this year! Music singalong with musical guests and “open mic” sharing about our favorite Christmas ornaments. Yay!

2 Interesting Links

  1. If I Flee on Morning Wings was played at Dick White’s memorial service. You can hear it again here. It’s beautiful!
  2. I’ve long admired this painting of Mary comforting Eve.

1 Thought

Your thought for today is about what we create over time, decades even.

“The time will come when diligent research over long periods will bring to light things which now lie hidden. A single lifetime, even though entirely devoted to the sky, would not be enough for the investigation of so vast a subject... And so this knowledge will be unfolded only through long successive ages. There will come a time when our descendants will be amazed that we did not know things that are so plain to them... Many discoveries are reserved for ages still to come, when memory of us will have been effaced.” ― Seneca

There you have it! Our 3-2-1 for the week. See you on Sunday!

It's not the same without you there,

Pastor Traci

This Sunday, December 19th, is our Family Christmas Pageant! All are welcome to join, and there's a part for everyone - just be sure you arrive at 10:15AM. Bring your friends, neighbors, grandkids, or any children in your life! It will be a wonderful celebration of the Christmas story. Check out some pictures below to see the preparation!

This year, everyone who wants a part in our pageant will get one. The parts of Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus will be performed by puppets made especially for EPC by Luciana Bisesi. All others will be able to choose from an angel, animal, shepherd, townsperson, or star. Please join us for this fun and meaningful worship experience!

To honor the Holy Family during Advent, help EPC fill the stable. During the month of December, we are collecting donations of soup, diapers, hats, gloves, and gift cards. Please place your items in our stable located outside the church in the circle drive. Thank you for supporting our local community!

Join us for our Christmas Eve worship service on December 24th at 6:00PM. This year, we will experience the Christmas Story through first-person narratives of those who were present at that first Christmas, familiar carols, and candlelight. Please plan on joining us -- the service will also be live streamed!

Join us on Sunday, December 26 during worship for a special Caroling Service! Come and celebrate Christmas with a musical vocal quartet who will sing all of your favorites and take your requests. Do you have a favorite Christmas ornament? Please bring it with you as we will have an open mic Christmas ornament sharing time.

EPC is raising funds to benefit an Afghan family of 11 who must leave Afghanistan due to exceptional risk. Your donation will go toward visa application, legal, and transportation fees. Please consider making a contribution by giving online, text to give, or placing a donation in the offering plate noting “Afghan Family Support.”

This Sunday, there's no Sunday School. We are all going to be in church for the pageant and won't be leaving. Please join us for the Christmas Pageant experience. There's a part for everyone!
