Hi EPC Friends and Members,

Here's my "3-2-1" for this week...

3 EPC Happenings
1. The fundraising gala for Project C.U.R.E. is just over a month away. Have you gotten your tickets yet? Tickets are available HERE and we have folks ready to help this Sunday if you need assistance ordering tickets. Just bring your credit card and we can give you a hand.

2. We will be kicking off a new sermon series this Sunday about the Stained Glass Windows in our church. Have you ever noticed how beautiful they are? Did you know there is meaning behind each one of the symbols and pictures within the windows? Come learn more about them!

3. An important note that Kaleigh, our pastoral assistant, will be on vacation this coming week and there will be no e-notes next week!

2 Interesting Links
 1. Book I’ve Been Enjoying: I heard a lot of buzz around THE ART OF GATHERING: HOW WE MEET AND WHY IT MATTERS and didn’t dive in until recently. I’m so glad I did. It’s a great read and really makes you think about the kinds of gatherings you organize and why.

2. I love how I get some of my best thinking time in when I’m either swimming or walking. HERE is a great article about why.

There you have it! Our 3-2-1 for the week. See you Sunday!

It's not the same without you there,

This Sunday we will kick off our new sermon series Stained Glass Windows. We will be spending time exploring the meaning behind the beautiful stained glass windows in our sanctuary. Join us as we learn more about each of the windows and symbols!

We are excited to welcome new members John and Dawn Yanahan (residents of Elmhurst) to EPC! They will be joining the church this Sunday, please be sure to welcome them!

The Children’s Garden is overflowing with tomatoes, zucchini, and cucumbers -- 68 lbs last week!! Without grabbing a sun hat or breaking a sweat, YOU CAN HELP!  Please bring all your used plastic berry boxes (the containers that blueberries and strawberries come in) and produce bags (the kind with holes that cherries and strawberries come in) so we can package everything nicely for the food pantry.  You can leave them on the counter in the kitchen if you don’t see the box.  Thank you!

Tickets are now available for the EPC Project C.U.R.E. Fundraising Gala on Friday, September 22, 2023! Please click HERE!

Need help figuring out how to purchase your gala tickets? We got you! Bring your credit card and we'll get you all set up after worship!

This will be an opportunity for fellowship within and outside of our EPC faith community as we aim to send $15,000 to fund the shipment of medical equipment to Malawi, Africa. If you want to learn more about Project C.U.R.E., click HERE. There's also a great video on our Facebook page HERE

We are excited to share that the ambassador of Malawi will be in attendance that evening. Get your tickets now!

We are excited to share that EPC will soon have a handbell choir! Our music director, Susan, is looking for interested ringers! No experience required, just a desire to learn. Rehearsals will likely be held after worship on Sundays. More information coming soon. If you are interested in ringing, please contact Susan

Our next all church leadership breakfast will be Sunday, August 27th at 9:30 AM. All of the church teams and committees will be meeting from 9:30-10:25. If you're not on a ministry team but are curious about how you might serve the church in this way, please plan to come to the meeting at 9:30 to learn and discern where you might use your gifts!

Please join us for the All Church Picnic on Sunday, September 10th, following the worship service.  Sandwiches, sides, and desserts will be provided. Please RSVP to the church office or your deacon by August 25th.

Join EPC in supporting ‘Cue for a Cause, an event supporting Elmhurst Walk-In Assistance Network (EWAN). The event is Sunday, September 3 from 12-7PM. All are welcome to enjoy an afternoon of food and family fun.
